„Trauer um Maria“

Für die Ausstellung "Kraftquellen" durfte ich ein historisches "Partnerobjekt" auswählen (aus 70 Möglichkeiten) und war eingeladen, eine Arbeit dazu zu entwickeln. Aus der "Trauernden Maria" von 1530 hat sich im Laufe dieses Jahres die Arbeit "Trauer um Maria" ergeben.

"Die biblische Maria kann den Tod ihres Sohnes nicht fassen. 'Im Angesicht der um ihren Sohn trauernden historischen Maria soll ein Raum entstehen, in dem um Maria Ladenburger, die im Oktober 2016 ermordet wurde, getrauert werden kann. Dies in Solidarität mit ihren Eltern, Verwandten und Freunden sowie schlicht aus der eigenen Betroffenheit heraus. Maria steht hier auch stellvertretend für alle Opfer', so der Künstler. Das Konzept Klaus Illis ist bei Familie Ladenburger auf breite Zustimmung gestoßen.

Ein Signe der Hoffnung soll die Leiter darstellen, welche als „Himmelsleiter“ als Verbindung zwischen dem Himmlischen und Irdischen dient. Das Wolkenbild, das Maria, die sich im Glauben getragen fühlte, gemalt hat und das an der Beerdigung an die Trauergemeinde verteilt wurde, liegt zur Mitnahme aus. Jeder Besucher kann so ein positives Zeichen von Maria als Erinnerung behalten, sowie seine Gedanken auf eine Postkarte schreiben, durch den Mauerschlitz werfen und somit eine Rückmeldung an die Hinterbliebenen und die Kulturschaffenden hinterlassen."

"Mourning for Mary"

For the exhibition "Kraftquellen" I was allowed to choose a historical "partner object" (out of 70 possibilities) and was invited to develop a work for it. In the course of this year, the work "Trauer um Maria" (Mourning Mary) from 1530 resulted from the "Trauernden Maria" (Mourning Mary).

"Biblical Mary cannot grasp the death of her Son. 'In the presence of the historical Mary mourning her son, a room is to be created in which the mourning of Maria Ladenburger, who was murdered in October 2016, can take place. This will be done in solidarity with her parents, relatives and friends as well as simply out of her own consternation. Maria also stands here as a representative of all the victims,' said the artist. The concept of Klaus Illis has met with broad approval from the Ladenburger family.

A signe of hope is supposed to represent the ladder, which serves as a "sky ladder" as a connection between the heavenly and the earthly. The picture of clouds painted by Mary, who felt carried by faith, and distributed to the mourners at the funeral, is available to take away. Every visitor can keep a positive sign of Mary as a memory and write his thoughts on a postcard, throw it through the wall slit and thus leave a feedback to the bereaved and the cultural workers".
